#OnTheStacks Host Bill Corcoran Jr. Featured on The Daily Creator Podcast
#OnTheStacks Podcast Host Bill Corcoran Jr. was recently featured as a guest on The Daily Creator Podcast with Eric Farber.
It’s hard to think of an original idea and even harder to sustained it over time.
“On The Stacks Podcast” is an example of a successful brand based on the Creator Economy.
The idea began as a goofy way of self-promotion in social media by its host Bill Corcoran Jr. But there’s so much more to this story.
Bill is part of a family business called Corcoran Printing in Pennsylvania. Its name might sound familiar thanks to the mention in a popular series known as “The Office”.
Bill became known in his hometown posting a series of photos of him on top of different types of paper stacks with funny captions. For a year people asked him to replicate this type of scene to post on their Instagram with similar marketing purposes as he once did.
Over time, the idea evolved into a podcast where people could tell stories and share their experiences without a filter, an organic conversation between passionate business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders in the region.
Listen to Eric Farber discuss how Bill’s idea became one of the 2% most listen globally podcast. Here’s how Bill Corcoran built “On The Stacks”.

Lanahu Ales | Mountain Top Breweryhttps://onthestacks.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Lanahu-Brewery-and-Keoki-34.jpg1500998OnTheStacksOnTheStackshttps://onthestacks.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Lanahu-Brewery-and-Keoki-34.jpg
Lanahu Ales – A Hawaiian themed micro-brewery is set to open November 11th at 12 Kirby Ave in Mountain Top.
NEPA native and owner of Lanahu Ales, George Merenich aka Keoki (Hawaiian for George), recently retired from the Susquehanna nuclear power plant after 36 years.
What started as a small home-based retirement project soon expanded into a state-of-the-art brewhouse featuring a stacked roster of juicy IPAs.
Although their focus is on IPAs, there are plenty of other beers on tap including: a mango pilsner, a golden ale, a lager, a chocolate oatmeal stout, and a passionfruit seltzer.
Why the name Lanahu?
Keoki, his wife Amy and two daughters, Jessica and Christine, have been to Hawaii more than 35 times. “Lanahu” is the Hawaiian word for coal. The name of the brewery makes for the perfect blend of their love for the Hawaiian Islands and their hometown roots in the NEPA coal region.
As soon as I walked in the door, Keoki made me feel like Ohana (family). During a tour of the facility, I sipped on a few different IPAs, all of which I loved! Darren Elias (photographer) thoroughly enjoyed the mango infused pilsner.
“I just hope we do right by people – that’s all I’m after.” Keoki said.
The names of the beers pay homage to Hawaii and NEPA, with names like “8-oh-8” which refers to the Hawaiian 808 area code and “Hena Ono” which refers to the local slang, heyna or no.
Lanahu installed a next-generation “Pour My Beer” self-serve tap system that features 10 beers. Upon arrival, guests will be ID’d at a check-in window and will receive a wristband and RFID card. This card will be linked to a debit or credit card and pre-programmed for 2 pints of beer. Once the 2 pints are exhausted, you will need to see the staff to reload your card. They also plan to offer pre-filled crowlers and growlers to go.
There will be a self-serve food kiosk in the taproom, focusing on appetizers and small plates. They also plan to partner with local food trucks. Along with their delicious beer offerings, Lanahu will also sell wine from local favorite, Honey Hole Winery.

My Connection to Cancer and #CandysVirtuALL Fundraiserhttps://onthestacks.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Candys-Logo-e1601643497160.png600600OnTheStacksOnTheStackshttps://onthestacks.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Candys-Logo-e1601643497160.png
I am thrilled to announce that I recently joined the Board of Directors at Candy’s Place, a Cancer and Wellness Center.
For me, joining the board is so much more than a professional opportunity — it’s a personal one.
My mom, Sue DeFine Armento, and me on my wedding day, May 27, 2018
I don’t often talk about my personal connection with cancer, but now seems like the right time to share a little bit more.
A few years before I was born, my mom Sue was diagnosed with breast cancer.
As any woman can agree about their experience with breast cancer, it’s more than just a terrifying diagnosis; it takes a toll on a person physically, mentally, and emotionally.
At only 27 years old, she endured surgery and radiation treatment. Thankfully, she won her battle in a relatively short amount of time since her cancer was caught at an early stage.
Candy’s Place didn’t exist at that time, and although she had support from her family and friends, I know it’s something that she could have tremendously benefited from.
My mom now volunteers at Candy’s Place with a support group for individuals with breast cancer.
“Giving back to humanity and helping to strengthen the lives of those battling breast cancer is very important to me,” she said. As an advocate for this cause, it gives me a profound sense of fulfillment which I’m very grateful for.”
When someone is going through the fight of their life, nothing is more important than feeling secure and as comfortable as possible. Candy’s Place provides that sense of “home” for all clients, and so much more.
They’re advocates and caretakers, confidants and friends. Whether it’s helping a client find a look that makes them feel more like themselves, or pairing a client with the right stress management technique, Candy’s Place is there.
I’m honored to serve on this board and to help continue their mission forward.
The Story of Candy’s Place
Candy’s Place was founded by Penny Cunningham in memory of her sister, Candice Vincent-Mamary. Candy led a very active and healthy lifestyle, and although she was a non-smoker, she was diagnosed with end-stage lung cancer in 1997.
Before she passed, Candy told her sister Penny that she wanted something good to come out of her disease.
She wanted a place for those living with cancer to go and feel comfortable during treatment, while offering services to help them and their family members cope with their disease.
Penny kept her promise to her sister and founded Candy’s Place in 1998. The organization soon became a valued resource for those living with cancer and their families.
