The biggest mistake businesses make on social media is not responding to comments.
When I click on a company’s Facebook or Instagram page and see comments on a post with no response from the business, it makes me cringe.
Today’s world is going more and more digital with less in person interaction (partially pandemic driven).
So now, more than ever, your business should be highly engaging on social media.
When you don’t respond to a customer’s comment on social media, it is equivalent to a customer walking into your physical store, inquiring about a product and completely ignoring them.
Responding to comments drives engagement. Engagement builds community. Community drives traffic. Traffic drives sales.
Even if someone is not looking to purchase your product, but is just supporting your business with a thoughtful comment, thank them.
You’d be surprised at how far a simple, “thanks” will go.
Do yourself and your business a favor, and acknowledge your customers on social media.
If you don’t, your competition will.
